What’s great about this job? You are able to really use your technical expertise, as you encounter various challenges that your customers may present. You aren’t working the typical lab job with the typical daily routine, now hospital laboratories rely on you to help train and troubleshoot on various medical or laboratory instrumentation.

 Qualifications may vary depending on the type of automated equipment being supported, some require medical technologist (ASCP) certification, some histology or immunohistochemistry knowledge, while others require laboratory experience. All however require an outgoing individual who enjoys training others, troubleshooting and travel.
