About

Hi! I’m Peggy McKee and you know me as ”the Medical Sales Recruiter” on this blog.
I was raised on a thousand acre ranch in central Oklahoma. I have a B.S. Chemistry and an M.B.A., Concentration: Marketing from the University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners!). I have worked all over the United States and held the titles of Regional Sales Manager, National Accounts Manager, Regional Product Manager, Systems Specialist and Account Manager (in the laboratory supply industry). In 1999, I moved to the Dallas area and founded PHC Consulting. PHC Consulting is well known for providing top of class candidates for sales, marketing and technical support positions (in the biotech, life science, and diagnostics industry). When I am not on the phone with candidates or managers, I am raising two willful children (Jesse and Kasey) or riding my cutting horse (Lucky)!

The medical sales recruiter is a good name for a blog but it’s too long as a replacement for your own which I don’t see listed here.
It’s even too long to write. A useable handle will be created so you might as well take charge of that yourself. Recruiting Animal is only two words and is easily reduced to one as a form of direct address.
[...] Communications seems like an easy topic. Sometimes the simplest things on the surface are actually pretty complicated. Just today I was having a conversation with a colleague of mine about this very issue with George Martin, of GM & Associates, who recruits all types of engineers. [NOTE]: George happens to be a friend of Peggy McKee who writes the Medical Sales Recruiter - Tips & Quips blog. My group did the site redesign, redeployment, and SEO for Peggy’s company PHC Consulting and their corporate website where they recruit candidates for medical sales and laboratory products sales representatives. Well, this morning George and I were talking about the open and frank conversations that are essential to building trust in the relationship between jobseeker and recruiter. George has been in recruiting for 18 years so he ought to know what he is talking about. One of the keys to building a long term relationship according to George is the sharing of information between the recruiter and the job seeker. If that candidate isn’t forthcoming with information and doesn’t make him feel comfortable, George won’t work with him. By getting that understanding up front, I find that I don’t get burned very often. [...]
[...] One example is the site of the Medical Sales Recruiter, Peggy McKee. Her corporate site was just launched back on January 30th. When I did my reports for her on Monday, she had 26 first page listing in major search engines. Peggy is very happy about how traffic is building on the site… but… I did have a conversation with her administrative right hand who said things were getting really busy and that I had caused her a lot of work - processing new candidates. ;-). [...]
[...] Shortly after having achieved what I thought were spectacular results I had the chance to consult for another recruiting firm owner, Peggy McKee of PHC Consulting. Peggy had a one page site that was static and hosted for free one DotEasy. The hosting and website were worth the price that she was paying, with traffic to her site that was very minor and no listings on major search engines. Peggy hired us to redesign her website, build her blog, integrate her recruiting software [Big Biller] with her website, and perform SEO on an ongoing basis. Peggy’s firm, PHC Consulting recruits in the medical sales arena, specifically laboratory sales. Her new site went live on Jan 31. I’m happy to report that she has seen traffic increases on the order of forty fold (so far) and business has grown so much that she is adding another recruiter (after being a solo practitioner for over 7 years.) [...] Hi! My name isPeggy McKee! I represent the sales and marketing function of Interview on Demand, LLC. I have been recruiting in laboratory sales industry for almost 9 years. At PHC Consulting, we are known for the high caliber candidates that we provide for our clients (small startups to $1B + Fortune 50 companies). I have always embraced technology whenever I felt that it could give me an edge over my competition. Late 2006, I was perusing the web at about midnight (this is a common pastime when I can’t sleep), I found some web discussions in a recruiting blog about video interviews and how they could be used in recruiting and hiring. I was so excited about the possibilities of using this type of tool to differentiate me and PHC Consulting that I could not sleep the entire night! For me (as a recruiter) a tool that would move my candidates through the hiring process faster was very exciting. Imagine, if I could get my candidates in front of the hiring manager (visually - and no a picture is not the same) faster than other recruiters (even faster than the hiring company’s direct recruits)! That is what a video interview would do!!! [...]
