Medical Device Industry Job Market Trend for 2010
Hey, medical device sales reps: www.orthogate.com says that 55% of you will be looking for a new job this year. Paula Rutledge’s article on the job market trends in medical device sales cites recent polling that also says that only 11% of you feel rock-solid in your current situation. She’s also got some interesting stuff on how medical device stacks up against other health care areas as well as in the context of the larger job market, and how the age of the job candidate is factoring in to the mix.
We expect to see much more ‘churn’ this year than in the previous two years. However, despite recent layoffs and shakeups at some of the biggest medical industry powerhouses like Merck and Pfizer, the entire healthcare arena is still one of the most recession-proof and desirable, and there are jobs to be had for the right candidate. But now it’s more important than ever to learn to utilize the resources that will help you sell yourself as the best candidate for the job.
