What’s your turnover rate?

To all sales managers involved in laboratory sales, pharmaceutical sales, clinical diagnostics sales, pathology sales, or biotech sales:  how’s your turnover rate?  If it’s high, maybe you or your company should take a look at 19 Simple Ways to Make Your Best Reps Leave.  A high turnover rate is a major factor affecting productivity, and word of how you treat your people will get around and the best people won’t be looking to work for you.  It sounds basic, but you’d be suprised at how many times I hear of companies/managers behaving badly and driving great sales reps away.  Bonus for job seekers:  Turn Up Your Listening Skills During the Job Interview shows you how to discover potentially negative situations like these and avoid them ahead of time.

How to get my attention

As a medical sales recruiter, I get a LOT of resumes.  Way more than I can use to fill the positions I have access to in biotech sales, laboratory sales, pharmaceutical sales, pathology sales, and medical device sales.  How do you get my attention short of glitter-decorating your resume?  (Please don’t do that.) One great way is to have a network.  If I know who you are, or know someone who knows who you are, that goes a long way toward putting you at the top of the pile.  How to (Really) Impress a Headhunter shows you several ways you can make your name known in your business circles.  Along with developing your personal and professional network, you can become involved in conferences, forums, and mentoring, for instance.  Get your name out there so I can find it!
